Dear Everybody!
With a heavy heart we have to cancel the Open House Day on the 7th of November. With the positive Covid-19 numbers rising and also the new restrictions it is sadly not possible for us to make this event happen. For the same reasons it is currently unpredictable when the next newbie class can take place.
We were really looking forward to skating with you so soon and were so happy for all the registrations! Thank you so much for showing interest in Roller Derby <3
To keep posted on more information about the upcoming newbie class (which will happen as soon as it is possible again in a safe way) and resources for online skating classes, outdoor skating recommendations and more Derby Love follow us on our social media accounts as well as our website.

Vienna Roller Derby is looking for new members for our league!

Have you been wanting to try out skating in a supportive environment?
Then ROLLER DERBY is the sport for you!
We are looking for: Skaters, Referees and NSO’s (Non Skating Officials who help with tracking time, counting points, penalties etc.)
! No skating experience or knowledge required !
Minimum age: 18 years
We welcome all women and people who do not identify within the gender binary to join the league‘s newbie class as skaters.
We also invite people of all genders who are interested in skating to join VRD as a referee. They may attend the newbie class to learn the necessary skating skills.
Anyone who is interested in roller derby but not interested in skating is welcome to join VRD as a non-skating official (NSO).
When our teams play games (in training and on bouts) you can learn NSO skills and try different positions to help run the game. You can become NSO any time.
If you simply want to learn skating on roller skates without playing roller derby you’re also welcome to join us!
Due to COVID-19 safety measures we unfortunately CANNOT lend skates or protective gear to everybody. Bring your own gear or borrow it from friends if this is somehow possible. If you want recommendations for skates/gear and where to get it please write us at: recruiting@viennarollerderby.org
We are aware that it is not (financially) possible to get skates and gear for every person. If that is the case for you please note it in your registration form and we will try to find a safe and sanitary way for you to have skates and gear to be part of the Open House. We can’t guarantee though that we’ll have gear and skates for everyone in the end.
Child Care: There will be a possibility for your child(ren) to be taken care of during the event. Please note in the registration form if needed.
Also be aware that we have to collect private data (phone number, e-mail, address) due to contact tracing regulations. This data will not be used in any other way and will be deleted 14 days after the event.
Please bring training clothes, a water bottle and a mouth-nose-protection!
Hand Sanitizer will be provided by us!
Please register in time so we can plan accordingly to make sure everybody has enough space and can feel safe as the Open House will be indoors.
