3 days, 11 games, gold for Vienna 🥇
From June 4th to June 6th, 2026, the Austrian Championships 2026 were held in Vienna as part of the Sport Austria Finals, and to say it was a complete success would be an understatement. For three days, we saw roller derby the way we love it. The Theodor-Kramer-Halle was filled with excitement, passion, enthusiasm, and visions for an egalitarian and inclusive sport. There were 30 officials, 127 skaters, a fantastic audience – you know we simply love our community – spectacular halftime shows, incredibly cool merchandise from all the teams, and tons of action.
While newcomers from various Austrian leagues successfully completed their first scrimmage, more experienced teams sped towards the title in two divisions. In the first division, the Dust City Rollers from Graz, the Fearless Bruisers A from Linz, and the Vienna Roller Derby Oysters battled it out in the final. After a thrilling 180 minutes on the track, the Vienna Oysters were crowned champions for the seventh time in a row, remaining undefeated. In a total of seven games in the second division, the Steel City Rollers from Linz prevailed against six other teams.
With adrenaline still pumping and a new derby crush in our hearts, we’re now looking forward to a well-deserved summer break and hope to see you all again in the new season this fall!
